‘Tis the Season

It may be just the beginning of the fall season, but this time of year makes me excited for the upcoming holidays. Halloween costumes and candy have just come and gone, which means turkeys, glittering lights and decorations are soon to follow.

Autumn

I’m one of those fanatics that even likes listening to holiday tunes as early as October!  Call me crazy if you want, but part of my excitement comes from not worrying so much about paying for presents for my friends and family. In the spirit of giving, I’ve compiled a list of things that will help even the most stressed find a way to enjoy this time of year:

1)   Save throughout the year by opening a Christmas Club or a Rainy Day account with Truliant.  You can save a little all year long, and earn interest!

2)   Don’t wait until the last minute to shop. Most of my shopping for December is completed in October & that way I’m not fighting big crowds late in the game.

3)   Use Truliant’s Online Banking to plan and purchase!  The tools from Finance Works help you plan and the rewards offered, at places like Wal-Mart, Old Navy and itunes, help you save while you purchase.

4)   Buy plain wrapping paper and have your children decorate it.  It will keep the kids busy and you’ll have custom wrapping paper.

5)   Make your gifts for neighbors, coworkers, or anyone really!  I know I’m a big fan of homemade cookies and fudge during the holidays.

Not that I need to remind you, but we’re only weeks away from some of the busiest times of the year.  Start planning early so you’ll actually be able to relax and enjoy this holiday season!
