I was attending a birthday party last week, when a man walked up to me and asked if I remembered him. He said that he had attended a credit class sponsored by Truliant three years ago and that he’d applied the information from the class to his life. I was delighted to learn that he’s cleaned up his credit issues and that Truliant has lent him a $7,000 to start a business (which is now thriving).
One of the goals of the Truliant’s Community Services Department is to increase the number of people in our “underserved” and multicultural markets that can access our services. We do this by providing financial literacy workshops to help improve the financial position of people in the communities we serve. We also promote and develop products and services that will increase the financial strength of our members, with our Shared Secure Credit Builder, Balance Checking, and the BALANCE Financial Fitness Program.
Community Service is about investing ourselves in the community, making it stronger and empowering people to believe in a better future.
About the Author: Marjorie Rorie is the director of community services for Truliant and is responsible for developing cost-effective strategies and initiatives for serving “underserved” households, people of modest means and multicultural populations.

I couldn’t agree more lets empower the people. NOT THE GOVERNMENT………we all need to speak up against our congress and elected local officials.
