Why Truliant? Part 1

by Kristina October 13, 2011

This post is one in a series about why I appreciate my financial relationship with Truliant.

So, why Truliant? Well that’s a question I can easily answer! I’ve been a member-owner of Truliant Federal Credit Union since 1992, so I have a lot of reasons why I use Truliant over any other financial institution.  I could go on [...]

Have you seen your credit report lately?

by Kristina October 11, 2011

Ahhh, the credit report.  A few pages determine so much about our financial lives, but those few pages might as well be in a foreign language to the untrained eye.  And some companies are making a profit of off it. They get you with their catchy jingles and you sign up because you want to [...]

Fine Print is here to stay!

by Heather October 6, 2011

Reading the ‘fine print’ can become mind boggling.   There are pages of it when we do a loan closing at the attorney’s office, it’s in the insurance policies, it’s on our monthly statements… it’s essentially everywhere. The fine print is there for our information and its how businesses protect themselves, but ultimately it is your [...]

Catching fraud before it catches you off guard

by Alice Perkins - University Member Service Representative October 5, 2011

Almost daily, a Truliant member-owner visits one of our Member Financial Centersto fill out a fraud dispute because someone has used their Truliant Visa out of the country or out of the state that the member lives in.  When I see this I try and always recommend a No Cost Credit Review.

With a No Cost Credit [...]

BOA to charge $5.00 a month for using debit card!

by Alice Perkins - University Member Service Representative September 30, 2011

I was online and came across the following article regarding Bank of America:
I can’t believe BOA is going to charge $5.00 a month for debit card usage. If you use your card as a debit or a credit card even once a month, you pay $5.00 a month for the privilege.  I mean, this is [...]

Vroom Service

by Heather September 14, 2011

Wouldn’t you say that in the wake of the recent financial crisis, we have been reminded of the importance of savings and financial planning for purchases both large and small, instead of immediate gratification with credit?

On a recent trip our four year old, whom we’ve been trying to teach the importance of saving, reminded me [...]

Are You Ready?

by Kristina September 8, 2011

This time of year the phrase “are you ready” is most often followed by “for some football?”

And believe me, I’m one of many ready for football season.  It means a break from the heat and going to see my favorite college team on Saturdays in Boone.

At Truliant we’re asking our members, “Are you ready for [...]

5 Back to School Shopping Tips

by Kristina August 26, 2011

I may not be headed back to school anymore, but I still love this time of year.  There’s just something about new pens and paper that gets me.  Strange, I know, but I can’t help it!
This year my nephew is going to kindergarten and I’ve become much more aware of the cost of school supplies. [...]

The Right Path

by Heather August 23, 2011

Choosing the right path when making any decision can be difficult – options seem to scream at you from all directions. How do we know we’re making the right choice?
Well, we try to educate ourselves and make the decision based on all of the available information and hope that it’s the best option.
Personally, there have [...]

Swipe to Win

by Alice Perkins - University Member Service Representative August 16, 2011

One thing I love about working for, and being a member-owner of Truliant Federal Credit Union, is there’s ALWAYS some incentive going on. Not just for the financially-fit people, but the average person!

Going on right now, just in time for back to school, is the Swipe and Sign Promotion… sounds complicated? It’s not!!! All you [...]
