Winston-Salem, N.C. (March 26, 2008) – The Ninth Annual Spanish Nite Scholarship Awards Presentation will take place this Saturday, March 29, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in downtown Winston-Salem. One of the evening’s main events will be when Truliant Federal Credit Union awards a $2,500 scholarship to a deserving Hispanic student.
“I am so happy that we are able to provide this scholarship,” said Marjorie Rorie, director of community services for Truliant Federal Credit Union. “Truliant is very passionate about supporting those who live in the communities that we serve and this scholarship is a testament to that. As the cost of going to college continues to rise, scholarships of this nature will become more and more important to today’s youth.”
Spanish Nite scholarship recipients are chosen based on both academic achievement and financial need. The evening will consist of live entertainment by West End Mambo, keynote speaker: Honorable Judge Albert Diaz, awards and scholarship presentation as well as a raffle and door prizes.
