| Why: |
Truliant Federal Credit Union will award the Burlington Development Corporation, Inc. with a $1000 community mini-grant at their office at 133 N. Ireland Street in Burlington. Grant funds will be used to help the organization with operational expenses for their “Future Challengers” gang prevention program. |
The Truliant Community Mini-Grant program is designed to enhance operational support for nonprofit agencies that serve low-wealth individuals or underserved communities where Truliant operates. To qualify for the mini-grant, community and faith-based agencies had to impact one or more of the following areas: health or human services programs, youth, affordable housing, financial literacy or economic development.
After Truliant conducted grant workshops in 13 regions throughout North Carolina, Virginia and South Carolina, one hundred and ten (110) organizations submitted grants. Thirty-one (31) organizations received grants. For more information about Truliant’s Community Mini-Grant, email marjorie.rorie@truliantfcu.org.
