Truliant FCU sponsors 2009 National Black Theatre Festival
Winston-Salem, N.C. (July 13, 2009)– As the National Black Theatre Festival (NBTF) celebrates its 20th year anniversary, Truliant Federal Credit Union is once again proud to help sponsor the event for the third consecutive biennial event. Truliant will be sponsoring the Teen-Tastic events for the youth that will be held at the Benton Convention Center throughout the week.
“Truliant recognizes the enormous value that the NBTF brings to the City of Winston-Salem and supports its national outreach efforts to spread and preserve the awareness
of black theatre to all people,” said Marc Schaefer, President/CEO of Truliant. “Its impact to the economic growth of Winston-Salem and for the appreciation of the arts is in line with our mission and we are very happy to sponsor the event.”
The National Black Theatre Festival is an international outreach program of the North Carolina Black Repertory Company. This historic event illuminates the powerful theatrical spirit and extraordinary talent of black performers, designers, directors and producers, from across the country. The event is produced to help sustain global black theatre and attracts thousands of guests to Winston-Salem.
This year’s Festival will offer a rich variety of theatrical performances including drama, comedies, musicals, choreoplays and multi-media presentations. Choose from more than 116 performances of new works and black classics performed by professional black theatre companies from across the country and Cape Town, South Africa. Shows are presented at multiple venues throughout the city of Winston-Salem.
