MARC SCHAEFER, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF TRULIANT FCU, RECOGNIZED FOR POLITICAL INVOLVEMENT

Winston-Salem, N. C. – Marc Schaefer, President and CEO of Truliant Federal Credit Union based in Winston-Salem, N.C., was bestowed with the National Association of Federal Credit Unions Paul Revere Award at the 2006 Congressional Caucus in Washington. The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) is a respected and influential trade association that exclusively represents the interests of federal credit unions before the federal government and the public.

The Paul Revere Award, presented by Dan Berger, NAFCU’s Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, is given yearly to the person who is most steadfast and effective in carrying the credit union banner on key issues. Schaefer also received a plaque from NAFCU’s board recognizing his personal lobbying and appearance before Congress in May of this year. Schaefer represented NAFCU during the House Financial Institutions Subcommittee hearing on a bill that would limit the authority of the National Credit Union Association in connection with proposed credit union conversions to mutual savings banks.
