2011 Truliant Community Mini-Grant Recipients

Truliant Gives 36 Nonprofit Agencies a Boost

The economy might be faltering, but Truliant has just the answer for 36 organizations that will receive a mini-grant to help with overhead expenses. Over 117 organizations in Truliant North Carolina, Virginia and South Carolina markets applied for Truliant Community Mini-Grant Program funds.

“The Truliant Community Mini-Grant Program is designed to enhance operational support for nonprofit agencies that serve people in “underserved” communities where Truliant operates,” according to Marjorie Rorie, director of community services for Truliant. She conducted grant workshops for the organizations prior to grant selection as a community service for nonprofits.

To qualify for the mini-grant, community and faith-based agencies had to impact one or more of the following areas: health and human services programs, youth, affordable housing, financial literacy and/or economic development. The grant cycle begins in May of each year.
