Phishing

How you can protect yourself

Phishing involves fraudulent Internet users who trick innocent victims into divulging personal information such as credit card numbers, account information, Social Security numbers, passwords and other sensitive information.

At Truliant, we are committed to safeguarding your privacy and want to help you understand Internet and email scams, and how to avoid getting scammed. In addition to regularly checking your accounts for suspicious activity, here are helpful tips to help avoid getting "phished":

  • Protect your computer by using regulary updated anti-virus software, spyware filters, email filters and firewall programs.
  • Keep your Internet browser up to date and apply the latest security patches.
  • Always ensure that you are using a secure website when submitting credit card or other sensitive information via the Internet. Victims of Phishing can become victims of identity theft.
