Truliant to Appear on the Triad Today Show

Winston-Salem, N.C. (February 21, 2012) - Truliant Federal Credit Union will appear on the Triad Today Show, a locally-produced public affairs program. The Black History Month television special, featuring Truliant’s community outreach efforts, will air on Saturday, February 25 at 7:30 a.m. on ABC 45 and Sunday, February 26 at 11:00 a.m. on My48.
Truliant President and CEO, Marc Schaefer, will make introductory remarks on economic empowerment and Marjorie Rorie, director of community services, will discuss her community service efforts to strengthen minority businesses through entrepreneurship education and business services. She will be joined by Octavius Davies, Credit Union member and founder/general manager of OD3 Construction, whose business growth was impacted by entrepreneurship education and business services provided by Truliant.
“I initially met Mr. Davies when I did a presentation about Truliant’s products and services for the East Market Street Community Development Corporation’s REAL Entrepreneurship training in Greensboro last year,” said Rorie. “Octavius is an enthusiastic and talented entrepreneur, and Truliant is pleased to have been part of the growth of his business.”
Triad Today, produced and hosted by columnist Jim Longworth, is a community-focused program designed to present information of interest to Triad viewers. It is produced weekly at the studios of WXLV-TV / WMYV-TV in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It airs every Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. on WXLV (ABC 45, Time Warner Cable channel 7) and repeats every Sunday at 11:00 a.m. on (My48, Time Warner Cable channel 15).
Truliant recently received a grant from the National Credit Union Foundation to implement the REAL Entrepreneurship training program in six locations where they operate branches. “We look forward to helping more small business people acquire loans to grow and expand their businesses,” commented Rorie.
