Truliant Awards Scholarship at Hispanic League's Spanish Nite Gala

Winston-Salem, N.C. (May 23, 2012) - Truliant Federal Credit Union sponsored a table, presented a scholarship and received a sponsorship award at the Hispanic League’s 13th Annual Scholarship Awards and Spanish Nite Gala held at the Embassy Suites on Saturday, April 28, 2012. The Hispanic League awarded a record 31 students with scholarships.
Cristian Pereda, Member Service Specialist for Truliant Federal Credit Union presented a Truliant scholarship to Jesus Perales, a junior majoring in civil engineering at Guilford Technical Community College.
“Spanish Nite is considered one of our most important annual sponsorships because of its benefits to the community and future leaders,” said Marjorie Rorie, director of community services for Truliant Federal Credit Union.
More than 400 people attended this bilingual, formal-attire event emceed by Carmen Canales and Luis Batista. Paul Jeffrey, President of Wesley Long Hospital, part of the Cone Health network, was the keynote speaker and entertainment was provided by West End Mambo and DJ Edgar Menendez.
The mission of the Hispanic League is to improve the quality of life for Hispanics/Latinos in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County by facilitating their inclusion, education and health while promoting multicultural understanding, dignity and respect.
