12/16/2013 - Truliant Among Nation's 200 Largest Credit Unions

Winston-Salem, N.C. (December 17, 2013) – Truliant Federal Credit Union is among the largest credit unions in the country, as reported in the 2014 Callahan Credit Union Directory, which lists the top 200 in assets and membership. Truliant ranks 105 in assets and 61 in members. Truliant has 181,798 members with assets totaling more than 1.6 billion as of June 2013.

11/18/2013 - Truliant's Kielbasa to Speak at ACUSO Annual Meeting

Winston-Salem, N.C. (November 19, 2013) – Rik Kielbasa, Truliant’s Senior Vice President of Member Experience, will be a featured speaker at the Association of Credit Union Senior Officers’ (ACUSO) 26th Annual Meeting on November 21 in Burlington, MA. Kielbasa will join several industry professionals on a panel to discuss the future of service delivery channels.

11/11/2013 - Truliant to Build New Member Financial Center in Huntersville, NC

Winston-Salem, NC (November 12, 2013) –Truliant Federal Credit Union broke ground today on a new full-service Member Financial Center in Huntersville in Mecklenburg County. Truliant will expand its presence in the Charlotte area, by opening a state-of-the-art center located at the corner of Gilead Road and Boren Street near Earth Fare; down from Presbyterian Hospital. This new location will open in the spring of 2014 and will help support Truliant’s growing membership in Charlotte and the surrounding communities.

10/21/2013 - Truliant Names Chad Frye Director of Member Experience Optimization

Winston-Salem, N.C. (October 22, 2013) – Truliant Federal Credit Union recently promoted Chad Frye to Director of Member Experience Optimization. Frye will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance member experience at every level of the Credit Union, including overseeing the conceptual design and construction of all new Member Financial Centers.

Winston-Salem, N.C. (September 19, 2013) – Truliant Federal Credit Union’s member-focused, mission-driven philosophy is featured in a new book by Forbes contributor, speaker and author August Turak. In Business Secrets of the Trappist Monks, Turak dedicates a chapter to Truliant’s mission and Truliant CEO Marcus Schaefer’s “The Power of Why” approach to business, where people can accomplish any “what” if they believe in the “why.”

8/21/2013 - Truliant Awards Grants to 39 Nonprofits

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (August 22, 2013) – While there’s been some improvement in the economy, the non-profit sector continues to struggle. In an effort to help nonprofits secure the funding they need to help the community, Truliant has awarded 39 nonprofit organizations mini grants up $1,000 to support their operations. Over 100 organizations in North Carolina, Virginia and South Carolina markets applied for Truliant Community Mini-Grant Program funds.

8/13/2013 - Would You 'Like' to Help Truliant Support Local Schools?

Winston-Salem, N.C. (August 14, 2013) – Truliant Federal Credit Union has supported local schools by donating school supplies over the last seven years. However, this year, they are doing it with a new twist. They have implemented a social media campaign called, Connect to Contribute. Truliant will make a financial contribution for every new social media connection they receive through September 1. For every “Like” on Truliant’s Facebook page, new follow on Twitter and/or LinkedIn, check in with Foursquare or subscription to Truliant’s YouTube, the credit union will donate $1 to the Truliant Fill the Bus School Supply Drive up to $5,000.

7/17/2013 - Truliant's McAdenville MFC is Relocated Due to Water Damage

Winston-Salem, N.C. (July 18, 2013) – Truliant Federal Credit Union’s McAdenville Member Financial Center announced Thursday that it will continue to serve its member-owners after water damage occurred at the 121 Main Street location. To better serve their members while the repairs are being made, a temporary financial center has been established just a few doors down, at 127 Main Street, formerly Blissful Bite Bakery, starting Friday, July 19, 2013 at 8:30a.m.

7/16/2013 - Truliant's McAdenville MFC Continutes to Serve Members after Water Damage

Winston-Salem, N.C. (July 17, 2013) – Truliant Federal Credit Union’s McAdenville Member Financial Center announced Tuesday that it will continue to serve its members after water damage occurred inside its location. The damage occurred sometime during the early morning Saturday, July 13, 2013, when a water line inside the financial center burst and continued to flow inside the building until staff arrived on the morning of July 15.

7/15/2013 - Truliant Partners with Local Schools to Assist Teachers

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (July 16, 2013) – Truliant Federal Credit Union will support local schools in the communities where they operate with their Fill the Bus School Supply Drive campaign. Collection boxes will be placed in Truliant Member Financial Centers (MFC) in three states as drop-off locations for school supplies. Member-owners, businesses, community groups, and the general public can donate items such as backpacks, calculators, pencils, paper, crayons, etc. through August 19 for students in need.

RALEIGH (July 3, 2013) – U.S. Congressman Howard Coble (R – 6th) paid a visit to Truliant Federal Credit Union’s Mebane Member Financial Center. 6/19/2013 - North Carolina Black Caucus Scholarship Event

Durham, N.C.: (June 20, 2013) Congresswoman Maxine Walters and Truliant’s Marjorie Rorie were among the featured speakers at the North Carolina Legislative Black Caucus (NCLBC) Foundation’s annual event held June 14. The event, held at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel & Convention Center in Durham, N.C., focused on increasing fundraising efforts for college scholarships.

6/17/2013 - Truliant Names Troy Martens Senior VP

Winston-Salem, N.C. (June 18, 2013) – Truliant Federal Credit Union recently promoted Troy Martens to senior vice president, credit administration. 5/29/2013 - Truliant's Hall to Chair March of Dimes Winston-Salem

Winston-Salem, N.C. (May 30, 2013) – Todd Hall, chief operating officer at Truliant Federal Credit Union, was recently named the 2014 Winston-Salem March for Babies Chair for the March of Dimes. The announcement was recently made at the kickoff ceremony for the 2013 March for Babies. The nation’s premier walking event, March for Babies is held in 778 communities across the United States and involves more than seven million people every year. This year the March of Dimes celebrates its 75th anniversary.

4/25/2013 - Truliant Awards Scholarship

Winston-Salem, N.C. (April 26, 2013) - Truliant Federal Credit Union presented a scholarship at the Hispanic League’s 14th Annual Scholarship Awards and Spanish Nite Gala held at the at the Embassy Suites Hotel Grand Pavilion Ballroom on Saturday, April 20, 2013. The Hispanic League awarded a record 34 students with scholarships this year.

4/15/2013 - Truliant Federal Credit Union to Award 15 Scholarships

Winston-Salem, N.C. (April 16, 2012) – In the continued spirit of giving back to the community, Truliant Federal Credit Union will award 15 college scholarships, totaling $21,500 to their member-owners through the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation (CCUF) scholarship program. Truliant’s member-owners will receive scholarships from four Scholar Vision Funds: the Fred J. Sarda Fund, Telephone Pioneers Fund, General Merit Fund and the Clyde O. Padgett Fund.

1/30/2013 - Truliant to Host Credit Score Workshop

Dublin, VA. (Jan. 31, 2013) – Truliant Federal Credit Union will host a workshop entitled, Your Credit Score on Thursday, Feb. 7 at the United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 2069 at 5110 Cougar Trail Road in Dublin, VA from 4 p.m. to 5: 30 p.m. The workshop will be presented by Truliant and feature a money management expert from the BALANCE Financial Fitness Program. 1/28/2013 - McFarland named VP of Business Services at Truliant FCU

Winston-Salem, N.C. (Jan. 29, 2013) – Truliant Federal Credit Union recently named Rob McFarland Vice President of Business Services. McFarland will work from the Truliant headquarters in Winston-Salem, where he has overall responsibility for the Credit Union’s member business loan portfolio. This key leadership role will be responsible for comprehensive, strategic management of the Business Services Department, product development and promotion, credit analysis and assuring overall documentation quality. McFarland joins Truliant with more than 13 years of commercial banking experience with several regional and community banks in Western North Carolina.

1/15/2013 - Truliant Provides Free Income Tax Preparation

Winston-Salem, N.C., (Jan. 16, 2012) – As a service to the community, Truliant Federal Credit Union is hosting a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site in the Fred J. Sarda Pavilion Building at their headquarters at 3200 Truliant Way in Winston-Salem. VITA is a free tax preparation service for families and individuals who make up to $50,000 a year.

1/14/2013 - Truliant FCU hosts Cross-Industry Strategic Summit

Winston-Salem, N.C. (Jan. 15, 2013) – Truliant Federal Credit Union hosted a strategic summit at their headquarters in Winston-Salem on January 10, where key executives from the Credit Union, Inmar and Novant Health explored key strategies and tactics in an effort to identify best practices across different industries.
