Truliant’s McAdenville Financial Center Continues to Serve Members after Water Damage Occurred

Winston-Salem, N.C. (July 17, 2013) – Truliant Federal Credit Union’s McAdenville Member Financial Center announced Tuesday that it will continue to serve its members after water damage occurred inside its location. The damage occurred sometime during the early morning Saturday, July 13, 2013, when a water line inside the financial center burst and continued to flow inside the building until staff arrived on the morning of July 15.

“We have a strong commitment to the McAdenville community, and our first priority is to serve our member-owners with as little disruption as possible,” stated Rik Kielbasa, Senior Vice President of Member Experience. “We are serving a few members at a time in the building until we set up a temporary location to better serve them while the repairs are being made. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our member-owners.”

While no member-owner information was damaged or compromised, the floor, internal walls and furniture will need to be removed and replaced. Management is meeting daily to determine an exact timeframe to fully reopen the Member Financial Center, and to set up a temporary location to conduct business while the branch is being repaired. In the meantime, Truliant will continue to conduct transactions, serving two members at a time, until an official contingency plan is decided upon.

Truliant members are encouraged to take advantage of several alternative options to minimize their inconvenience. ATMs at the Member Financial Center are currently still available and fully functional, including night drop capabilities. In addition, member-owners can call Truliant’s Member Contact Center at 800-822-0382 for immediate assistance, or they can access their accounts online. Truliant Member Financial Centers closest to the McAdenville branch include the Shelby MFC located at 621 S. Dekalb Street in Shelby, and the Tyvola MFC located at 6501 Tyvola Glen Circle in Charlotte.

Members are also encouraged to visit local Credit Union Shared Branch locations that are convenient to the McAdenville area. Truliant members can conduct transactions at these locations, but will need their membership number and photo ID to make deposits, loan payments, withdrawals, transfers and printed statements.
