Truliant Promotes Johnson to Vice President, Controller

Release date: 4/14/2017

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (April 14, 2017) – Truliant Federal Credit Union has promoted Linell Johnson to the role of Vice President, Controller.

In this role, Johnson is responsible for managing accounting, electronic funds and payment processing, purchasing, and financial reporting departments along with performing financial modeling for Truliant. He replaces longtime controller Lori Mowen and reports to Truliant’s Chief Financial Officer David D’Annunzio.

“We’re always glad to promote from within our organization and Linell has continuously made this easy to do,” D’Annunzio said. “He always rises to the challenge and devotes himself fully to making sure we offer the best quality of service to our member-owners.”

Johnson began his career at Truliant in October 1994 as a temporary employee in the items processing department. He was offered a permanent position in accounting before becoming the credit union’s first financial analyst in 1997 – developing organizational and profitability systems, and refining budgeting processes.

In 2004, he was named manager of financial analysis and reporting. Johnson served as controller for Piedmont Advantage Credit Union and was promoted to Vice President of Finance before returning to Truliant in September 2015 as Assistant Controller, leading financial analysis and reporting, and items processing teams.

Johnson is a High Point University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He earned Certified Public Accountant certification in 2003. He is active with the Winston-Salem Roadrunners, where he and his wife, Lynette, coach the youth track program and members of the Board of Athletics.

They have two boys, Jordan and Brandon.
