The rain on Saturday didn’t keep a crowd that was ready to dance away from Summer On Trade. This early August weekend Envision kept a big crowd on the asphalt dance floor with soul hits.
If you’ve been looking for something to do this summer that doesn’t require a lot of cash but is a lot of fun, you should check out Summer on Trade. It’s every Saturday evening from 7-10 p.m. at 6th and Trade Streets in the downtown Arts District and there are still four more performances for the summer series. All you have to do is show up and maybe bring a lawn chair. You‘ll get to see and hear some of the area’s best bands for free!
Truliant Federal Credit Union is the main sponsor of Summer On Trade. Truliant has always been a great supporter of the community events, and they’re particularly proud to be involved with presenting music for our community so that everyone can experience outstanding live music in a great downtown setting.
Check out the performers for the next 6 weeks and their music genre. I’ll bet you’ll find a music style to suit your tastes.
So pack up the family for the evening, a group of friends or just a couple’s night out (hey, you could also have a romantic dinner) and see what Summer on Trade is all about.
The six remaining Summer on Trade Bands are:
August 9 – Vagabond Saints Society: (Hall & Oates)
August 16 – Big Ron Hunter and Mike Bennett & the B-String Allstars (Guitar, Blues, Rock)
August 23 – Doby (Funk Soul)
August 30 – The Mighty Eliminators (Old School Variety)
