Tis the season

It may not always feel like it (thanks to some 70+ degree days here in NC), but the holidays are upon us.  With this busy time of year there are a lot of things to celebrate, but one thing is also guaranteed to happen:  crime.

Criminals take advantage of so many people around the holidays because they know we’re busier than most other months.  We’re out shopping, spending money online & traveling, which means there isn’t as much time to be diligent about our financial security.

The best thing you can do to ensure your money (& gifts) isn’t being taken advantage of is to be aware.  Check your online banking regularly, save your receipts, don’t use your PIN number if you use your debit card, make sure you don’t leave your purchases in plain view, shop with a friend or family member whenever possible, & let Truliant know if you’re traveling outside of your normal spending range.

As always, if you have any kind of questionable activity on your Truliant accounts, stop by one of our Member Financial Centers or call our Member Contact Center, & we’re happy to help.  And most importantly, enjoy your time with your family & friends this holiday season!
