Have you ever been to your favorite restaurant, gas station or grocery store and you are greeted by name? Kinda like Norm from Cheers! It’s such a great feeling that you are a valued and respected customer where the people who work there take the time to learn who you are – one of the reasons you come back.
Let me tell you it’s not just limited to your favorite restaurants and stores – it happens at your local banks too. I was lost and a number, not a name at my ‘big bank’, if you will. They didn’t seem to bother to learn much about me – and oftentimes someone different was there each time. That’s not the case anymore – I have a personal relationship with my tellers at Truliant Federal Credit Union. They have taken the time to learn more about me and that is so important. I may not have a lot of money in my account but it’s what I’ve got and it’s a lot to me. They realize that and treat me as an important member-owner – just as important as the next member.
In today’s busy world it’s so nice that people take the time to get to know you. It truly is about personal relationships. We strive to communicate in our personal lives so why not let that spill into our business world and dealings as well.
