July is typically the hottest month of the year for us in the Northern Hemisphere while our friends in the Southern Hemisphere, like Australia and New Zealand are experiencing their coldest month. It’s hard to think about Christmas when it’s 90+ degrees every day. Therefore in the Southern Hemisphere there are frequent Christmas in July events so that they can experience Christmas during their colder weather of July.
