 Hi, my name is Chris Browning and welcome to Money Burst, presented by Truliant.
 
Managing all of the areas that make up our financial lives, can sometimes be, not only intimidating but it can be absolutely terrifying. I'm sure many of you have heard completely opposite advice from your friends or maybe some of your family members and you just decided to put figuring all of this financial stuff on pause because you were confused on what you should do next.
 
We live in a time where any question can just be easily googled in a matter of seconds, but sifting through all of that information can be really overwhelming, so we decided to make this a lot simpler for you. I'm going to be bringing you quick bursts of information to help navigate your finances. We'll cover topics like:

• How credit works and how to actually build it the right way
• Taking on your debt and becoming debt free
• Building a budget that you can actually stick to, which is the goal right
• Getting comfortable with investing because it's not as scary as it actually seems
• Preparing for home ownership, which can be one of the biggest moments in our financial lives

 
We'll cover all of this and more in quick easy to understand bursts, which are just short videos that range from a minute up to ten minutes, when we really need to dive deep into a topic. Each burst is filled with advice that you can put into practice right away and since you're going to be seeing more of me around here, I should probably tell you a little bit about myself.
 
So, as I said, my name is Chris and I have worked in the finance industry for close to 11 years now. And my work has spanned from accounting all the way to financial analysis. Some of those jobs were more exciting than other, I'll let you decide which one you think was the exciting job. And for nearly five years now, I have been the host for a short form podcast called Popcorn Finance and this is a show where I discuss all things personal finance in about the time it takes to make a bag of popcorn. Additionally, you can find me on NBCLX each week discussing the top finance topics from around the country.
 
All of this work has given me the opportunity to learn and understand the complexities of our financial system that I am excited to share with all of you here. Our goal with Money Burst isn't to sell you another product, our goal is to give you the tools you need to get your finances in order and maybe become debt free, invest in your future and to do all of this with the confidence that you need to tackle your personal finances.
