WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (January 17, 2019) Sherri Thomas, chief human resources and organizational development officer (CHRO) at Truliant Federal Credit Union, has been named to the board of directors at the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce.

Thomas will serve two successive three-year terms on the board. The chamber has 60 members on its board of directors. Thomas served last year on the chamber’s member engagement advisory board.

“Sherri Thomas was an invaluable member of our member engagement advisory board in 2018,” said Brent Christensen, president and CEO of the chamber. “Her insight, knowledge and engagement in that role made it even more evident that we needed her on our board of directors.”

Thomas joined Truliant in 2010 as regional director of Truliant’s Central Region of Member Financial Centers. In 2011, she was named vice president of member experience for the Member Financial Center network. In 2013 she became vice president of member experience for Truliant’s Member Contact Center and Member Channel Support. Thomas played a key role in skills assessment, training needs, coaching and employee development.

In 2014, she was named vice president of organizational development and recruiting, overseeing the implementation of Truliant’s new applicant tracking system. Prior to her current role as CHRO, in 2017, she became senior vice president of human resources and organizational development.

“I am excited and honored for the opportunity to build upon the great progress the Greensboro Chamber continues to make,” Thomas said. “I look forward to carrying out the important work of championing economic prosperity and quality of life in Greensboro.”

Thomas has a master’s degree in business administration from Elon University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Truliant is a Platinum Level supporter of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce.
