WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., July 9, 2026 — Truliant Federal Credit Union has matched funds raised during the PACU Foundation’s final Flying Colors Charity 5K and Fun Run, contributing $27,377 and bringing the event’s total fundraising to a record $54,754.

The PACU Foundation is the charitable affiliate of Piedmont Advantage Credit Union, which is currently in a pending merger with Truliant.

Held June 13 at Forsyth Country Day School in Lewisville, N.C., the event brought together Piedmont Advantage employees, families, friends and local runners for a colorful morning of giving. More than 180 participants helped the event exceed its fundraising goal. Truliant employees also joined the effort, with the Truliant Foundation, Truliant’s charitable giving arm, covering registration costs for employees who participated.

The record-setting proceeds will support community organizations that provide emergency financial assistance, financial education and essential services to families throughout the greater Triad and Charlotte regions. The overall 5K winner was Jared Bahena of Lexington, N.C., with a time of 23:06. Truliant employees also made a strong showing, with 20 runners participating.

“Truliant’s matching contribution helps carry forward the PACU Foundation’s legacy of giving by increasing the support available to the organizations and families it serves,” said Sherri Thomas, Chief Administrative Officer and Chief of Staff at Truliant and President of the Truliant Foundation. “We are proud to help extend that spirit of generosity and community impact as Piedmont Advantage prepares to join Truliant.”

Since its founding in 2020, the PACU Foundation has helped residents overcome financial hardship, gifting more than $142,000 to local charities as of year-end 2025 through donations from PACU members, employees, vendors and volunteer staff.

“This generous match is a fitting tribute to the Foundation’s mission and to everyone who helped make it possible,” said Jean Golden-Rumer, Senior Vice President of Experience and Service Strategy and President of the PACU Foundation. “As we close this chapter, it’s gratifying to know our final fundraiser became our most successful one, allowing us to make an even greater impact in the communities we’ve been privileged to serve.”

As the Foundation winds down its operations, it plans to distribute the remaining funds among its recently supported organizations.
