  • Get big protection... in a tiny chip!

Truliant VISA® Credit and Debit Cards now come with built-in chip technology. As your current card expires or is replaced, you’ll receive an EMV chip card that is more secure and easy to use.

Receive enhanced security. When you use your card at a chip-activated terminal, the embedded chip generates a one-time use code. This code is virtually impossible to counterfeit and helps reduce in-store fraud.

Enjoy global acceptance. More merchants are accepting chip transactions every day.

Whether you check out using chip technology or swipe your card, you can pay with confidence wherever VISA® cards are accepted. Plus, you can continue to use your card online and by phone. Chip-activated terminals are already in most U.S. retailers – and more locations will have them in the years to come. If a merchant cannot accept chip transactions, simply swipe your card to pay.

If a chip-activated terminal is available, follow these easy steps:

         1. Insert the chip end of your card into the terminal with the chip facing up.
         2. Keep your card in the terminal and follow the prompts on screen.
         3. Remove your card when prompted and take your receipt.
(You may need to sign for your purchase.)

  • Truliant Visa Chip Cards are not only more secure, they are also simple to use.  Watch a video on how to use an EMV chip card:

    • Q: What’s an EMV chip card?
    • A: A chip card is a credit or debit card that contains a small embedded chip. Every time you use your card at a chip-activated terminal, the embedded chip generates a one-time use code. This code is virtually impossible to counterfeit and helps reduce in-store fraud.
    • Q: Why am I receiving a new card?
    • A: Because your old card has expired, you have been issued a new card that now includes chip technology. It provides an enhanced level of security as well as global acceptance.
    • Q: How does chip technology protect my information?
    • A: Every time you use your card at a chip-activated terminal, the embedded chip generates a one-time use code. This code is virtually impossible to counterfeit and helps reduce in-store fraud.
    • Q: How can I request a Truliant VISA Credit or Debit Card?
    • A: We will automatically send you a chip card when your current card expires.
    • Q: What should I do with my old Truliant VISA Credit or Debit Card?
    • A: Once you activate your new card, please destroy your existing card for security reasons.

    • Q: Where can I use my chip card?
    • A: You can use your card at millions of places that accept VISA, at home and around the world.
    • Q: How do I pay at a chip-activated terminal?
    • A: It’s easy to make purchases with your credit card. You can always swipe your card like you do today. If a chip-activated terminal is available, you will be prompted to insert the chip end of your card into the terminal with the chip facing up. Leave your card in the terminal and follow the prompts on the screen.
    • Q: Why do I need to leave my card in the terminal?
    • A: While your card is in the chip-activated terminal, the embedded chip creates a one-time use code. This code is virtually impossible to counterfeit and helps reduce in-store fraud. If you remove your card too soon, your transaction will be canceled.
    • Q: How long do I leave my card in the terminal?
    • A: The terminal will display and may possibly sound when the transaction has completed and your card is ready to be removed.
    • Q: Can I still swipe my card to pay?
    • A: Yes. If a merchant is not yet chip-activated, simply swipe your card. Keep in mind, you may need to sign for your purchase.
    • Q: Has my card information changed?
    • A: For your convenience, your card number and PIN have not changed. Your card may have a new expiration date, so be sure to update your information with billers that charge your card regularly.
    • Q: Will I have to pay any fees to use my chip card?
    • A: No. There are no additional fees to use your new card.
    • Q: Do I need to enter a PIN to pay with a chip card?
    • A: No. You will not need to enter a PIN when paying with your Truliant VISA Credit or Debit Card, but you may be prompted to sign for your purchase.
    • Q: Will using my chip card online or over the phone be any different?
    • A: While your new Truliant VISA® Credit or Debit Card featuring chip technology helps reduce in-store fraud, you will utilize your new chip card for online and over-the-phone purchases the same way you did with your previous card. As always, please notify your financial institution immediately of any unauthorized use.
