Truliant Early Pay: How to Get Your Paycheck Up to Two Days Early

You know the feeling. It's Wednesday night. The gas tank is flirting with E. A bill is due tomorrow. The grocery list is getting longer. Payday isn't until Friday. The money is coming. You know it's coming. But "coming Friday" doesn't put gas in the car on Wednesday.

Getting paid two days early won't change your life. Most things don't. But small wins have a funny way of adding up. Two extra days to cover a bill. Two extra days before transferring emergency money from savings. Two extra days of not checking your account balance every few hours.

That's the kind of breathing room Truliant Early Pay is designed to give you.

And if you already get paid through direct deposit at Truliant, there's a good chance you're already using it.

What Is Truliant Early Pay?

Early Pay is a free, automatic service that lets you get paid early with direct deposit.

It posts your money to your Truliant account up to two days before your scheduled payday. It comes standard with every Truliant consumer checking account. There's nothing to enroll in, nothing to activate and nothing extra to pay for.

If your paycheck already arrives at Truliant through direct deposit, Early Pay is already working behind the scenes.

Here's how it works:

When your employer runs payroll, the payment information is often sent before your official payday. Many financial institutions wait until payday to release the funds. Truliant doesn't. The moment we receive the deposit information, we make your money available.

For many members paid on Friday, that means seeing their paycheck as early as Wednesday, which means groceries on Wednesday instead of Friday. Gas on Wednesday instead of Friday. It’s not about getting rich two days sooner. It’s about feeling a little more in control.

How to Set Up Early Direct Deposit

Getting paid early with direct deposit comes down to one thing: routing your paycheck to Truliant.

Early Pay is one of those features many members don’t realize they already have. The good news is that if your direct deposit already goes to Truliant, you're done. For everyone else, setup usually takes just a few minutes. Most of us haven't thought about our direct deposit settings since the day we got hired. But updating them is easier than you might think.

First, gather two numbers.

  • Truliant's routing number: 253177832
  • Your account number, available in online banking or the Truliant app

Next, provide those numbers to your employer.

Most companies manage direct deposit through payroll systems like Workday, ADP, Gusto or Paychex. Log in, update your payment settings and enter your account information. Still somewhere that uses paper? Truliant has a deposit form you can print and hand to HR.

Some employers also allow you to split your paycheck between accounts, sending part to checking and part to savings. Please note that Early Pay will only apply to the portion deposited into your consumer checking account.

Payroll updates usually take one or two pay cycles to process. Once they're active, your deposits simply start arriving earlier.

No extra notifications. No additional setup. Just payday arriving a little sooner than it used to.

Which Deposits Qualify?

Early Pay works on ACH direct deposits going into Truliant consumer checking accounts. That covers most of the money that shows up like clockwork: paychecks, Social Security and other government benefits, pension payments, military pay and many refunds.

A few types of deposits aren’t eligible. Early Pay does not apply to savings accounts, certificates, loans, IRAs, IRA Money Market accounts or HSA Savings accounts. It only applies to ACH deposits, so a check you snap a photo of, a wire transfer or a Venmo from your roommate for their half of the power bill all post on their usual schedules.

When Will the Money Actually Show Up?

When your deposit lands depends on your employer’s payroll timing, not on Truliant.

Truliant posts your deposit the moment the payment shows up in our system. Most big payroll companies send it early, so most members see their money up to two days ahead. If your employer’s payroll runs closer to the wire, your deposit may arrive one day early or right on payday. We can only pass along what we have actually received, so we can’t promise early deposits every single time.

The good news is that payroll is usually pretty consistent. Once you know when your deposits typically arrive, they should keep following that same rhythm unless a holiday changes the schedule.

The Early-Pay Feature You Already Have

The feature you already have is simple: You get paid early with direct deposit, and it comes standard with your Truliant account.

A few years ago, getting paid early felt like something only the newest banking apps could offer. And to be fair, it's a useful feature. But you don't need to move your money to an app to get it.

Truliant Early Pay comes standard with your account, alongside the things many app-only providers can't offer: local branches, real people to talk to, lending solutions when life gets bigger and a relationship that can grow with you over time.

Truliant Can Help

Early Pay is a small thing. That's exactly why people love it. Nobody gets paid two days early and suddenly changes their financial future. They fill the gas tank. Cover a bill. Buy groceries. Avoid dipping into savings. Breathe a little easier.

Getting paid two days early won't change everything. But small improvements have a way of adding up.

Already a Member?

Once posted, the funds are in your federally insured Truliant account and available like any other deposit.

* Early Pay does not apply to certificates, loans, IRAs, IRA Money Market accounts or HSA Savings accounts. Truliant can only post funds and make them available to you up to two days early after we receive notification that an ACH deposit is on the way. We cannot guarantee early posting.
