Kristi Straw Joins Truliant as Chief Retail Banking Officer

At Truliant, Straw will serve on the Chief Planning Team. She will be responsible for organizing, planning and strategically directing the activities of Truliant’s branch network, call center, and the Truliant Financial Advisors. Straw will report to Todd Hall, president and CEO of Truliant.
"Kristi has a deep understanding of retail banking and the evolving financial services landscape,” Truliant’s Hall said. “Her leadership will further elevate Truliant’s focus on delivering exceptional solutions across all delivery channels for our members.”
Among Straw’s key responsibilities at Truliant will be to create and manage high-performing teams that drive lending and deposits, and ensure growth and high-quality service for Truliant members.
“I am excited to play a role in further strengthening Truliant’s impressive array of programs designed to serve our members,” Straw said. “I believe in the importance of finding the right solutions for members’ personal finances, and look forward to working in our communities to boost financial education.”
In her last role, Straw was the president of community banking at Bank OZK. She managed seven regional executives, $5 billion in deposits and 102 banking centers in North Carolina and Georgia. Straw has also worked at US Bancorp Investments, CommunityAmerica Credit Union in Missouri, Morgan Stanley, UMB Financial Corporation and Wells Fargo Financial Mortgage.
Straw has a bachelor’s degree in business management and a minor in Spanish from Eastern Illinois University. She has an MBA from Baker University in Kansas. Straw is a 2023 Charlotte Business Journal Women in Business honoree. Additionally, she was one of 20 “Big Wigs” chosen in 2023 to support and raise funds for Carolina Breast Friends in Charlotte, N.C. “Big Wigs” commit to wearing pink wigs in their community to raise funds and awareness of breast cancer.
