WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Nov. 6, 2025)— As the colder months approach, the need for food assistance surges, and Truliant is teaming up with the Truliant Foundation to prioritize hunger relief across its member communities by matching donations made to the Truliant Foundation through the end of the year, ensuring that contributions go even further.

The Donate Dollars - Feeding Our Neighbors in Need campaign aims to accelerate and amplify the work many local food banks are doing. Truliant and the Truliant Foundation will match all gifts to the Truliant Foundation up to $50,000 for hunger relief until December 31. One hundred percent of these contributions will be used to support food banks in the Carolinas and Virginia.

Donations to the Truliant Foundation can be made by visiting truliantfcu.org/donate.

"Many families are struggling with food insecurity and can't access the nutritious meals they need. It’s tough out there, and there are crucial needs that we can address together,” said Atticus Simpson, executive director of the Truliant Foundation. “We encourage everyone to join us this holiday season to make a difference. Whether it’s a warm meal, fresh produce, or a box of groceries, your gifts to the Donate Dollars campaign will put meals on tables and help keep families fed."

Funds raised will be distributed to the following organizations: Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina in Charlotte, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina in the Triad, Harvest Hope in South Carolina, and Feeding Southwest Virginia.

Inflationary pressures, combined with recent changes to food aid distribution, are expected to exacerbate food insecurity in 2025. In 2023, about 86% of the counties in the United States with the highest levels of food insecurity were located in the South, according to Feeding America’s 2025 Map the Meal Gap study. Feeding America is a network of more than 200 food banks and 60,000 faith-based and charitable food pantries and programs.

The study also noted that more than 340,000 individuals experience food insecurity in the 18-county region served by Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina.
