Truliant Celebrates International Credit Union Day

Release date: 10/20/2013

Winston-Salem, N.C. (October 21, 2013) – Truliant Federal Credit Union celebrated International Credit Union (ICU) Day, October 17th to recognize credit unions’ efforts worldwide to continually improve the lives of individuals, families and the global communities served by credit unions. More than 196 million people worldwide joined the celebration to honor the theme “Credit Unions Unite for Good” in an effort to demonstrate credit unions as America's best financial partner.

"Our mission is to enhance the financial lives of our member-owners," said Marc Schaefer, Truliant's president and CEO. "International Credit Union Day is a great way to demonstrate the global reach of that mission, beyond the Triad, beyond North Carolina as credit unions all over the worlds are impacting their members' lives in many positive ways."

To recognize the day, Truliant set up demonstrations at their Winston-Salem headquarters cafe to showcase global diversity and heritage among employees and to share strides Truliant has made in helping member-owners improve their lives while educating on efforts beyond the areas they serve.
