Carter Named Truliant RiverGate Branch Manager
Release date: 12/9/2014
Winston-Salem, N.C. (Dec.9, 2014) – Truliant Federal Credit Union has named Brian Carter to the role of manager for its new RiverGate Shopping Center location in Charlotte.
At the new location, Carter will lead efforts to grow membership, help member-owners accomplish financial goals, cultivate strong relationships with existing and future business partners, and advance a culture that helps member-owners improve their financial standing.
"Throughout his career, Brian has worked diligently to positively affect the lives of our member-owners, his employees and his peers,” said Rik Kielbasa, senior vice president member experience. “His transition to our RiverGate Member Financial Center will allow a new audience to benefit from Brian’s experience and wisdom, while realizing their goals and dreams through Truliant’s mission. "
The new branch is situated within the southeastern quadrant of N.C. Highways 49 and 160 in Southwest Charlotte. It opened in late November and is part of a new regional shopping center that serves as a gateway to Lake Wylie and the Catawba Riverfront.
Carter began his Truliant career in 2004 as a temporary employee at its Matthews location and was soon promoted to full-time positions before becoming branch manager of Truliant’s Tyvola branch location in 2007.
During the past seven years, Carter’s reach has extended beyond the walls of his branch to continuing improvement within the credit union and in his community.
In addition to winning impressive internal Truliant honors, he has played important roles in developing companywide training to recognize and meet member-owner needs and improve financial lives. He was one of the first Truliant employees to attend East Carolina University’s Commercial Lending School. Carter is also a past chairman and current board director of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce’s Southwest Chapter.
"It’s truly meaningful to work for a company that wants to improve our members’ lives and not just push products and services our members don’t need," said Carter. "I work with many individuals that share the same goals and vision and we look forward to bringing the credit union choice to RiverGate."
Carter is a graduate of The University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem and resides in Tega Cay, S.C. with his wife Laura and their two children, Allison and Myles. When not working, he also enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, attending soccer and volleyball games, and recreational time at the lake.
