Truliant Foundation Accepting Community Mini Grant Applications Through May

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (May 9, 2025) – The Truliant Foundation invites nonprofit organizations in locations served by Truliant Federal Credit Union’s branch network to apply for Community Mini Grant funding in May.

Now in its 17th year, the program supports community-based organizations with grants of $1,500 for capacity-building needs. Applications will be accepted from May 1, 2025 until May 31, 2025. Winners will be chosen by an internal panel and notified in early August.

The grants are intended to be used for professional development and training for staff and board members to equip individuals with the necessary skills to drive forward the mission of their organization. This program will also consider requests for materials and supplies for programs that support the Foundation's focus areas.

Applicants should focus on initiatives that enhance social mobility by providing personal guidance and resources for families in need; emphasize financial wellness through programs that promote financial literacy and inclusion for adults, such as counseling and credit-building; or that focus on workforce education that supports career skill development from middle school to postsecondary, including mentoring and leadership initiatives.

In 2024, the Truliant Foundation awarded $45,000 in Community Mini Grants to 30 nonprofit organizations across the Carolinas and Virginia. Since its inception, the program has granted more than $400,000 to more than 420 nonprofits. Eligible organizations must have 501(c)(3) status, an operating budget of less than $500,000, be operational for at least three years, and headquartered in a community that contains a Truliant branch.

Applications are available online at www.truliant.org/minigrants. For more information on Truliant Foundation Community Mini Grants, please email [email protected].
