Truliant Promotes Clark to Chief Administrative and Legal Officer

Winston-Salem, N.C. (August 18, 2016) Truliant Federal Credit Union has promoted Chief Legal Officer Joe Clark to the additional role of Chief Administrative Officer.

In this newly created position, Clark will be responsible for creating comprehensive strategies for Truliant teams encompassing facilities management and services, vendor management, digital document management, enterprise risk management, and business continuity.

He retains responsibility for Truliant’s legal, regulatory and compliance functions along with collections, special assets and project management.

“Joe serves as a critical member of Truliant’s Chief Planning Team,” said Marc Schaefer, president and CEO of Truliant. “In addition to his valuable legal, administrative and business acumen, Joe embraces the core member-focused mission of improving member lives in all we do.”

He has more than 22 years of management and leadership experience in the credit union industry. Clark joined Truliant as its Compliance Officer in June 1994 and was promoted to General Counsel in January 2001. He was named Chief Legal Officer in 2013.

Clark helps Truliant maintain a proactive state and local government presence. He serves as Chair of the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce’s Governmental Affairs Committee and as a member of the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) Regulatory Affairs Committee. He is also licensed to practice law in North Carolina.

Clark received his law degree from North CarolinaCentral University and his undergraduate degree in Business Administration with an accounting concentration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
