Truliant Foundation Accepting Community Mini Grant Applications Through May
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (April 21, 2026) – The Truliant Foundation invites nonprofit organizations in locations served by Truliant Federal Credit Union’s branch network to apply for Community Mini Grant funding in May.
Now in its 18th year, the program supports community-based organizations with grants for capacity-building needs. Applications will be accepted from May 1, 2026 until May 31, 2026. Winners will be chosen by an internal panel and notified in July. Due to the generosity of Truliant donors last year, the Truliant Foundation has increased grants award amounts from $1,500 to $2,500 per award this year.
The grants are intended to be used for professional development and training for staff and board members to equip individuals with the necessary skills to drive forward the mission of their organization. This program will also consider requests for materials and supplies for programs that support the Foundation's focus areas.
“Behind every nonprofit is a group of people showing up—day after day—for their neighbors, often with limited resources and limitless heart,” said Atticus Simpson, executive director of the Truliant Foundation. “Our Community Mini Grants are a simple way to stand beside them to support local organizations serve more families with dignity and hope.”
Applicants should represent organizations that align with Truliant Foundation focus areas including social mobility, financial wellness and workforce education for adult learners. More details on focus areas are available on the grant application.
In 2025, the Truliant Foundation awarded $45,000 in Community Mini Grants to 30 nonprofit organizations across the Carolinas and Virginia. Since its inception, the program has granted more than $445,000 to more than 450 nonprofits. Eligible organizations must have 501(c)(3) status, an operating budget of less than $500,000, be operational for at least three years, and headquartered in a community that contains a Truliant branch.
