Donate Dollars To Help Warm Western NC
Truliant will match donations to the Truliant Foundation up to $50,000 in the form of pre-paid gift cards to Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina (GWNWNC). These cards will be distributed directly to families visiting regional relief hubs established in Watauga, Henderson and Buncombe counties. With winter approaching, many households need essential cold-weather gear, including coats, blankets, gloves, mittens, and hand warmers. Generators, gas, and propane are also needed to assist households without a heat source. This effort supports GWNWNC’s Good Neighbor Program, which has been ongoing for 20 years and supplies gift cards to individuals needing emergency assistance or facing a crisis.

The Truliant Foundation was established in 2023 to support Truliant Federal Credit Union’s commitment to community and social responsibility to give back to the neighbors we serve. It elevates the “People Helping People” credit union philosophy by providing donations and grants to organizations improving lives in the communities that Truliant serves, as well as scholarships for members pursuing higher education. As the largest financial institution headquartered in the Piedmont Triad, and one of the largest credit unions in North Carolina, Truliant is proud to partner with Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina and the Truliant Foundation to support relief efforts for our neighbors in Western North Carolina.
Earlier this fall the Foundation provided the following organizations with relief supplies and financial donations:
Carolinas Credit Union Foundation Disaster Relief Fund
League of Southeastern Credit Union Disaster Relief Fund
Winston-Salem Police Department Foundation
Miracle Hill Ministries in Greenville, SC
Supply collections on behalf of Greensboro YMCA to support Avery County, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office to support Buncombe County, and Mecklenburg County Sherriff’s Office to support Henderson County.

A. We will update our website regularly as we receive additional details.
Q. How can I stay safe from potential scams at this time?
A. Regrettably, there are individuals who may exploit those affected by disasters. A frequent scam in home repairs involves someone arriving at your home and offering their services. They typically request payment in advance to buy materials, but after you pay, they fail to return. Stay cautious of any demands for upfront payment. Before engaging anyone, be sure to verify their references, insurance, and licenses.

We are also providing financial support to our employees in affected communities who are without power and basic necessities. We will continue working with our organizational and non-profit partners to provide meaningful support to help these communities.
