(Aug. 17, 2018) – When President Bill Clinton signed H.R. 1151 – the Credit Union Membership Access Act – on Aug. 7, 1998 it was the culmination of a battle that started in the lower courts, went to the U.S. Supreme Court, rallied a grassroots movement throughout the nation and ended on Clinton’s desk as landmark legislation.
