Ira-2-med-dist-4_11_19.jpgWINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (April 12, 2019) – Truliant Federal Credit Union has named Ira Williams to the role of vice president of member experience.

Williams will lead Truliant’s branch network and its branch operations team. He reports to Chris Murray, senior vice president of member experience and operations.

“Ira has a proven ability to lead others and his experience serving credit union members will be invaluable to improving lives through our network of Member Financial Centers,” Murray said. “His effective coaching and leadership style has consistently helped him earn top performance awards. We’re proud to have him join Truliant.”

Since 2015, Williams served as vice president of retail banking at Allegacy Federal Credit Union. He was responsible for developing and driving a comprehensive strategy for 17 branches, eight student-run credit unions, its contact center, wealth management, and retail operations. As branch prototype team leader, he managed branch design and implementation including technology, digital experience and advisory training.

Williams initially joined Allegacy in 2007 as a branch manager of its flagship branch in Winston-Salem. Previously, Williams worked for Wachovia Bank as a licensed financial specialist. He began his financial services career as an intern with Paine Webber Financial Services, now UBS. Shortly afterwards, he became part of the annuity sales team for Jefferson Pilot Financial, now Lincoln Financial.

Williams has received many honors. As a student and graduate of the Southeastern Regional Credit Union Management School at the University of Georgia, he received first, second, and third-year “Outstanding Project” awards for credit unions with more than $1 billion in assets. Participating in a Credit Union National Association’s Extreme Leadership Institute, Williams received the Certified Credit Union Executive designation.

His involvement in the local community and his business success led to him being named as one of the Triad area’s “Forty Leaders Under Forty” by the Triad Business Journal in 2012.

Williams has a bachelor degree in communications from Wake Forest University.
